15th November
Entries are now open for the third annual Argyle Community Trust ‘Green Army’ 5k Fun Run, sponsored by Arthrosamid by Contura Orthopaedics and Practice Plus Group. The event will raise funds for Play Off Grief, a sport-and-support project for children and young people experiencing the loss of a loved one, delivered in collaboration with Jeremiah’s Journey.
- The finish line is INSIDE the Theatre of Greens at Home Park Stadium!
- Every finisher will receive a special medal and t-shirt.
- Meet Pilgrim Pete and have your photo taken at the finish line.
- Spectators, friends and family are welcome along the route and in the Beacon Electrical Mayflower Stand.
- Most importantly, every participant will help raise money to support vulnerable children and young people across the city.
The five-kilometre (just over three miles) run will begin in Central Park on Sunday 15 November and is open to anyone aged 11 and over, regardless of running ability. Participants are encouraged to wear green or dress up in their favourite costume and, above all, enjoy the occasion.
Registration opens from 7am at the Biffa Fan Zone outside Home Park Stadium, with the fun run getting underway at 9am.
Refreshments will be available throughout the day for supporters, family and friends, making it an enjoyable event for everyone.
Entry costs £5 per runner, with participants encouraged to raise a minimum of £35 in sponsorship. All funds raised will support Play Off Grief.
Spaces are limited and are already filling quickly, so early registration is recommended.
Entries can be submitted via the Race Nation website: https://race-nation.co.uk/register/argyle-community-trust/green-army-fun-run-2026. Once registered, participants will automatically receive a personal fundraising page through Race Nation to help kick-start their fundraising efforts.
Play Off Grief launched earlier this year at The Hub at Foulston Park, Devonport, bringing together two leading Plymouth-based charities, Argyle Community Trust and Jeremiah’s Journey, in a pioneering partnership designed to support children and young people navigating the complexities of bereavement.
Since its launch, the programme has delivered 242 hours of targeted support across 121 attendances and 11 sessions for children aged six to 14.
