2nd - 5th July
The Cornish Pilot Gig Association (CPGA) is launching the inaugural GigRower European Championships at Mount Edgcumbe, Cornwall, from 2–5 July 2026.
Bringing together UK and international crews, the event will feature racing across all age categories—from Juniors to Masters. Adult competitions include seeding races, promotion and relegation heats, and finals, while juniors race in a seeding event followed by a final.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Plymouth Sound National Marine Park, races will be visible from Mount Edgcumbe and Plymouth Hoe, with live streaming available on YouTube. Off the water, crews and spectators can enjoy on-site camping, social spaces, and entertainment.
With hundreds of gigs expected on the water, it promises to be a vibrant, competitive, and inclusive celebration of the sport.
