Who are Go South West?
Go South West is part of the Go-Ahead Group, a leading provider of passenger transport in the UK and internationally. Plymouth Citybus and Go Cornwall Bus together form Go South West. Do I need to source my own provisional lisence and training rescources?
No! Once you have received a job offer, we provide all of this within our training team.
Where will I be working from?
Your working depot will be the closest one to where you're living. Vacancy avaliability may vary due to driver numbers and demand, but we will work with you to ensure your wellbeing is prioritised.
What are your shift patterns?
A mixture of early, lates and intermediates, all of which are explained at interview. Drivers are expected to cover these on a rotational basis.
Do you offer part-time work?
At present, we only offer full time, 40 hours per week positions.
At which point will I be paid?
Once you have passed initial interview, you will undertake a medical, booked by us, and send off for your provisional bus licence. You will then take a theory test once your licence comes back. Upon passing your theory test, you will be booked onto an induction and be paid from Day 1 of your induction.
Do you offer car driving lessons?
Unfortunately we are not able to offer car driving lessons. We also require 1 year's experience on the road driving a car, before bus driver training.
