Roadworks this week: from Sunday 1st December 2019


Sunday 1st December: Southside Street/the Barbican 

From 13:00 until 18:00 on Sunday 1st December, Southside Street on the Barbican will be closed for the Barbican Christmas Lights Switch On. 

Throughout the road closure service 25 will be on diversion. This service will be diverted via Hoe Approach > Hoe Road > the Citadel > The Dome, from where it will resume its normal route. 

The special Ocean City Sights Illuminate service will also be on diversion until the road reopens after 18:00. The service will run on diversion via Hoe Approach > Hoe Road > Lambhay Hill > Madeira Road where it will then resume its normal route. 


Sunday 1st and Monday 2nd December: Royal Parade 

On Sunday 1st and Monday 2nd December between the hours of 21:00 and 06:00 on both days Royal Parade southbound (on the Guildhall side) will be clossed between St Andrews Roundabout and Derrys Cross Roundabout. 

Services 5/5A, 21/21A and 50 will be on diversion via the Viaduct > Buckwell Street > Notte Street > Princess Way > Derrys Cross. Please use the stop outside Walkabout on Union Street to board and alight from this service during the road closure. 

Services 11, 12, 16, 33, 43 and 70A will use Western Approach to Derrys Cross, where they will then follow Union Street and serve the Walkabout bus stop. 

Service 34 will operate around Derrys Cross roundabout, dropping at Derrys Cross and picking up at Union Street Walkabout. 

The special Illuminate service 34A and Ocean City Sights buses on Sunday 1st December will travel via Union Street and use the number 36 bus stop on Derrys Cross roundabout. 


Wednesday 4th December: The Viaduct (stop B3) 

On Wednesday 4th December between the hours of 09:30 until 15:30 there will be a bus lane closure on the Viaduct (outbound) from Sloopy's Casino to Charles Cross roundabout. Bus stop B3 will be closed as a result. This will affect services 21/21A and 51, which will not be able to use this stop during these hours. 

Passengers should use the stops on Royal Parade and Exeter Street instead. Please ask your driver where to alight if you are unsure.
