The Devon and Plymouth Chamber Awards was a memorable night for Plymouth Citybus and its sister company Go Cornwall Bus.

Go South West, which incorporates Plymouth Citybus and Go Cornwall Bus, won the award for Digital Business of the Year thanks to improvements for passengers and staff. Our new website and app were praised by judges, along with online forms of communications so our drivers can access information wherever they are and whenever they need it.

Go South West MD Richard Stevens received the special Outstanding Leadership Award in recognition of his contributions to local business and organisations, from taking buses out on the roads to sitting on school boards and local growth boards, plus much more.

On receiving the award, he said: “My deepest thanks to everyone I am lucky enough to work with for your amazing support. I was very humbled and proud to receive a special award for Outstanding Leadership in the Community at the Devon & Plymouth Chamber of Commerce Business Awards. I can honestly say it is a pleasure to work with you all.”

Meanwhile, Head of People and Operations Carolyn Giles took to the stage in her role as Chair of the Chestnut Appeal, the charity partner of the event, to explain why drawing attention to men’s health is so important.

The annual awards were hosted by Devon and Plymouth Chamber CEO Stuart Elford and local TV and radio personality David Fitzgerald, and have become one of the most prestigious events in the South West business calendar.
