Friends of Shekinah

Plymouth Citybus has renewed its membership to become a Friend of Shekinah.

The Plymouth-based charity has been running since 2019 and the Friends of Shekinah scheme is designed to enable Shekinah to help people improve their health through accessing support such as free counselling or access to green spaces at their horticulture centre.

Shekinah now has a guarantor scheme which helps people secure their own accommodation - they can even offer security deposits. They also support people in their accommodation 24/7, help people back into paid employment, volunteering or training.

Although Shekinah receives some funding, some parts of the project are reliant on donations, so Friends of Shekinah are essential in helping them carrying out their work.
