Doing Business Differently

Plymouth Social Enterprise Festival brings together social enterprises, businesses and charities to share best practice and work out how to tackle issues in our community.
The theme of this year’s festival is the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, 17 different aims with the objective of achieving a better and more sustainable future for all. Issues addressed by the goals include poverty, inequality, climate change, the environment, peace and justice.
The Festival is being sponsored by Go South West, which incorporates Plymouth Citybus. The sponsorship of this event ties in with our commitment to support the local and wider community, and in particular our environmental commitment - and the Festival publicity even features one of our buses!
Go South West PR and Communications Manager Louise Manico is also on the Board of Plymouth Social Enterprise Network. She said: “The Plymouth Social Enterprise Festival is a great opportunity for organisations from all sectors to come together. The majority of us want to make the world a better place, and an event like this makes collaborations and opportunities to learn from each other easier.”
Festival organiser Jess Holliliand said: “The Sustainable Development Goals are relevant for all organisations. Social enterprises have led the way in terms of adaptability and resilience over the past 18 months, and the Plymouth Social Enterprise Festival is a way for everyone to benefit from the lessons learnt, helping both the economy and our community.”
You can see the programme of events on the PSEN website.
